Robin Edwards

Robin was born into a sailing mad family and spent most of his childhood either sailing boats, fixing boats or working on boats. Summers spent teaching sailing and windsurfing on the waters around Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, crewing on fishing trawlers or just messing about on the picturesque Percuil river.

 

After college he completed a modern apprenticeship in Engineering, Fabrication and Manufacturing. He then spent two years sailing around the Pacific Ocean on superyachts before returning to Cornwall to set up Roseland Marine Services. RMS is a marine fabrication company specialising in stainless steel welding and the design, fabrication and manufacture of boat trailers.  This led naturally into the business of delivering boats. He started with just a Land Rover and a single trailer,  this took him all over Europe.

 

RMS Boat Transport has grown from strength to strength and now boasts a fleet of specialised boat trailers, 4x4s, vans, crane vehicles and articulated low loaders.

In his spare time, he owns 'Rita' one of the famous Falmouth Working Boats which race regularly in the area. He also owns a Lochin 33 Workboat, A Halmatic 36 Trawler, a Treeve 16 open workboat and has a part share in the Corby 33 IRC race boat 'Snafu'.
